This morning, I woke up from a very stressful dream, and I was hyperventilating, almost crying (ok, I cried a little) and feeling very out of sorts. 😢
I had some complicated thoughts and feelings I needed to work through in my head, and I knew that if I didn’t work them out, they would impact more than just my dreams. 😬
I’m not sure why, but I have a huge aversion to the idea of journaling, even though when I’ve had short bursts of journaling daily, I’ve found it very cathartic and therapeutic. 💆🏼‍♀️
Well, that dream must have really rattled me, because for once I felt a hunger to journal about my life and what I was grappling with. 🤔
I almost talked myself out of it twice, but I went inside and grabbed my journal. Believe it or not, it only took me about 10 minutes to write it all down. It was 1 page, front and back. 🙌🏻
Once I wrote it all down, I could see that I had simply been repeating the same thoughts in different words in my head over and over again. There weren’t even as many issues to work through as it had seemed. 🙏🏻
My journaling gave me perspective, released my stress, and helped me clarify my feelings…maybe there’s actually something to this. 😉
Now, while it’s all fresh, and the feeling of freedom from my thoughts is strong, I’m sharing this post to remind you that JOURNALING ROCKS! 🙌🏻
It’s such a good way to clear your mind, quell anxiety, take stock of your life, feel more aware of your feelings and motivations, and more in control of your thoughts and decisions. 💆🏼‍♀️
Got an issue you’re grappling with? Trust me, journal about it. You’ll be glad you did. I know I am. 💗
Happy Sunday. 😊
