Yoga and tai chi seem different on the surface, but are actually quite similar. Where tai chi finds balance in the concepts of yin and yang, yoga finds a similar balance in the concepts of sthira and sukha. They share the goal of connecting you more deeply with yourself, and both include an element of deep meditation as a tool to create union between the body, mind, and soul.
I cherish moments like this one, because they remind me that while our viewpoints often differ, as do the practices that we each believe will help us reach enlightenment, and even the words that we use to define what that enlightenment looks like… even though it seems like we are all so different, we still want many of the same things.
We may have different names, and take different paths to get where we’re going, but the destination we are all heading to is very often the same. 💗 @visit_beijing @aloyoga
