Mum’s dress from her 20’s we found at the summer house & little me at the exact same spot, but 20 years ago. 🐥
Continued from previous post:
I came back. And it felt like the best dream I have ever had.
I learned the importance of acknowledging where I came from and giving thanks to the places that shaped me as a child. I felt the beauty of returning to my roots, where I once belonged.
It wasn’t easy for us in Russia, otherwise we would have never left. I can’t imagine moving back there again, I don’t want to. But despite that… Thank you Russia, for giving me the best childhood I could have ever asked for. Thank you for inspiring my love for Mother Earth and sparking my creativity. Thank you for teaching me to be curious, independent and brave.
After everything, this part of me is always within. These forests and flowers and fields are in my heart now and forever. How silly it was of me to associate where I was born with my past.
If it is always within me, it is my now.
