I’m going to confess something… I know it will resonate with you too.
I used to feel so much pressure to take a photo for Instagram if I’m on a trip away from home. It’s like that funny saying: if you didn’t take a photo to let everyone know you went “there”, did you really go “there”?
It’s a joke you’ve heard before, but in this generation it’s too true to be a joke. If I was somewhere amazing with no camera or photo opportunities, I felt like the trip didn’t have much of a purpose.
Only in the past year I changed that mindset. Letting go of the need to tell the world what I am up to made my travels 1000 times better. I travel for myself, my inner growth, for enjoyment, for my work, for my art.
Some of the travels and personal trips I did you don’t know about. And that’s okay. Instagram doesn’t need to know everything 😂 There’s life beyond what is seen on social media.
If you feel like you are getting sucked into the vortex of social media and posting, take a break. Delete the app for 30 days. Go on a roadtrip and keep it a secret. Let go of the pressure to impress. It’s ruining your creativity and only feeds your ego.
It’s not meaningless if no one saw it. 🦋
