I may project a ton of confidence here on IG, but the truth is, some days I deal with what feels like crippling self-doubt.
I never know when it will hit me, and it’s hitting me pretty hard today.
I guess that’s a normal way to feel when you’re stepping outside of your comfort zone in a big way (which I am right now), but when it happens, it doesn’t feel like a normal thing at all. It feels more like the end of the world.
When this kind of self-doubt arises, I tend to feel alone, and as if I’m the only one to ever experience these feelings. I can’t decide which is worse: the self-doubt or the sense of isolation that accompanies it.
I wish I had an answer to share with you on how to make it all go away. I wish I had already learned how to break through self-doubt and keep going as if it had never arisen in the first place, but I’m not there yet.
Maybe someday. Maybe even soon. God I hope so.
In the meantime, I just wanted to be real with you and share how I’m feeling today, because just in case you’re doubting yourself and feeling like you’re the only one who ever does, I want you to know that you’re not alone.
