I have scoliosis… A few of you have actually noticed from my photos! At first I heard it from a ph

I have scoliosis… A few of you have actually noticed from my photos! At first I heard it from a physioterapist at a young age. Now that I’ve tried Katonah yoga classes it has come up again. I am more aware of it.

Scolios is a sideways curvature of the spine. Most cases of scoliosis are mild, so I think mine is too?! If I stand for long, my back starts to hurt and when I sit I’m not in a correct posture or straight… I’m quite flexible, I have oversoming joints in my arms etc. But that doesn’t help to keep straight lines and a strong base. The opposite. Katonah yoga has been interesting because it really has given me inspiration to control my body better… For example in a hand stand practice this helps a lot.

Katonah focuses on bones and organs. It teaches you to work smarter, not harder. I’ve just taken a few private classes so don’t know that much yet. But in those classes I really got the feeling that I come to my mat to transform, not to do what I’m already good at. ❤️
